Wire Brushes for the Automotive Industry
Automotive and diesel brushes are used for cleaning, finishing, and polishing auto parts and diesel engines. Applications for automotive brushes include deburring cast aluminum engine heads, surface conditioning manifolds, and polishing holes on machined parts. Diesel brushes include general diesel tools as well as specialty brushes for Cummins Group, Caterpillar, and Detroit Diesel engines. Valve guide, oil line and gallery, and display brushes are also available from BRM.
Cummins, Caterpillar, and Detroit Diesel Brushes
Cummins Group diesel tools include injector and injector cup brushes, copper cleaning and polishing brushes, seat cleaning brushes, and plunge bore cleaners. Injector and injector cup brushes have steel filaments for aggressive cleaning. Cleaning and polishing brushes are used as bench tools. Seat cleaning brushes help to ensure the proper seating of Cummins coppers.
BRM also supplies overhaul brushes for servicing the injectors and shoulder area in Caterpillar engines. Diesel mechanics can choose Caterpillar injector brushes for cleaning direct injection nozzles or pre-combustion chambers. Caterpillar injector cavity seating tools are end brushes with a small diameter and brass bridle.
Detroit Diesel overhaul brushes are available for injector servicing, copper cleaning and polishing, and seat cleaning. These BRM injector brushes have stainless steel filaments and a plastic handle for ease-of-use.
General diesel tools clean the injector seats of International Harvester engines. There are also diesel brushes for crankshaft oil holes and spoke cleaning. Choose block O-Ring groove cleaners for wet sleeves in John Deere engines.
Valve guide brushes clean small holes. Their shank is crimped to the stem wire for strength and rigidity. Choose brush tools with steel or nylon filaments. BRM offers a valve guide kit with both steel and nylon brushes in common sizes.
